Members of the SCA Board of Directors and designated representatives of SCA Affiliate Member organizations meet to discuss the activities and goals of Swedish America’s community foundation.

SCA is heading to Grand Rapids specifically to honor SAHA-WM as they celebrate this important milestone in their history. In addition, the event will include the 2017 Autumn SCA Awards Presentation. The evening will begin with a social hour with nyckelharpa and violin music, folk dancing and more. The featured speaker of the evening will be Grand Rapids City Historian Emeritus Gordon Olson who will be speaking on Finding a New Home – Swedish Immigration to West Michigan. Cash Bar.

First we will have lunch at Covenant Village of the Great Lakes, a retirement home with a Swedish heritage. There we will have lunch and meet with some SAHS-WM resident members. Then on to Frederick Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park. It is on the list of 100 Places You Must Visit before You Die, and a top tourist attraction that constantly keeps growing with new additions. We will be there just as the autumn Chrysanthemums and More! exhibit opens. We will finish the day with at reception at the home of Mary and Bill Seeger in Caledonia, a village south of town. Such a special treat!
