Swedish Council of America promotes knowledge and appreciation of Swedish heritage and culture in North American life, fosters cooperative relationships with like-minded groups and individuals, and strengthens contemporary cultural and educational ties between North America and Sweden.
Swedish Council of America will be largest community-supported resource in Swedish North America for providing grants for organizations, scholarships to youth, recognition to leaders and communications to the community – all focused on furthering our mission.
The SCA Board of Directors has identified these strategic priorities as critical to enabling SCA to best fulfill its mission and attain its vision:
Enhance SCA’s annual grant-making capacity to at least $100,000 per year and ensure this priority for future generations with a permanent endowment fund of at least $2,500,000.
Enhance SCA’s annual scholarship-granting capacity to at least $100,000 per year and secure this priority for future generations with a permanent endowment fund of at least $2,500,000.
Increase awareness and community-appreciation of SCA’s awards and communications programs through greater promotion, networking and outreach.
Achieve the above priorities by broadening and increasing SCA’s base of support throughout the community we serve and thereby ensuring SCA’s financial stability long into the future.
