2014 GAA – Carrin Mauritz Patman

The following SCA Great Achievement Award was presented
at the SCA Awards Banquet in Driskill Hotel in Austin, Texas,
on Friday, April 4, 2014.

“The best advice my life’s experience can offer is persistence.”

All during her very active life, Carrin Mauritz Patman has been a dedicated promoter of Sweden and Swedish culture in the Austin, Texas, region. Over the years, she has been involved in a variety of Swedish organizations in addition to establishing a unique relationship with Texas University where today, thanks primarily to the efforts of Carrin, the Swedish Studies Excellence Endowment has been established in the College of Liberal Arts. The endowment supports scholarships and fellowships, symposia, study abroad opportunities, lecturers as well as cultural exhibits and performances.

Her tireless efforts on behalf of Swedish-Texas as well as the Texas Democratic Party have earned her the affection and respect of her community. Swedish Council of America is proud to add Carrin Marutiz Patman to its list of honorees.
